May Stamp Club: Altered Notebook Tradition

It's that time of year again--it's almost time for a new Annual catalog.  Time to say goodbye to some of our favorite DSP.  Two of my favorite ways to use up my HUGE stash of DSP is to make envelopes and altered notebooks.

Making altered notebooks at May's Stamp Club has been a tradition for several years now.

You need four total pieces of DSP.  Two 9 x 12 for the outside covers and two 9 x 7 for the inside.

Supplies used:
Composition Notebooks (stock up during the summer 4/$1)
Park Lane DSP
Big Shot with Top Note Die and Typeset Alphabet Dies
Canvas Creations
Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Ribbon

See previous posts for more altered notebook ideas:

I just realized that this month's project had absolutely no rubber stamping on it--oh, the horrors, ha!! Happy Notebook Creating!!  Bye for now, Maria

May Stamp Club: Altered Notebooks

It's that time of year again for making notebooks with all the retiring DSP.  I never get tired of making these!

This version we've added a long tag using the Tag Topper Punch, and then wrapped the ribbon around towards the inside of the notebook.  For a finished look, add the inside piece of DSP after adding your ribbon.

For all the measurements etc, here's the original post.  My cousin just went to a women's retreat, and made personalized journals for all the ladies that were going from her church.  To personalize them, she added a tag punch out, and simply hand wrote their names on the tag.  Everyone loved them.  Here's a few of the ones she made!

Happy Stamping!  Bye for now, Maria

Altered Composition Notebook

Well, it's that time of year again. Each spring we create new Altered Composition Notebooks at Stamp Club to say good bye to all the DSP I've hoarded over the last year.  Here's our project for May.  I won't bore you with the details.  See this post for instructions and measurements.  Happy Stamping!  Bye for now, Maria

May Stamp Club: Altered Notebooks

It's that time of  year when we say goodbye to one catalog and say HELLO to the new one.  This year the new catalog is starting a month early, June 1st.  Our stamp club has a tradition of making altered notebooks annually right before the new catalog starts.  Start with plain composition notebooks.

Paisley Petals DSP is used on all the following notebooks.

Sheila added an additional piece of ribbon to use as a bookmark!

For more great notebooks and instructions, please see this post from June 2011.  Happy Notebook Creating!  Bye for now, Maria

May Stamp Club: Strength & Hope

Hi Stampers,
As part of their Making a Difference program, Stampin' Up! is proud to partner with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation in the Strength & Hope Campaign, and will donate $2 from the sale of each Strength & Hope set and digital kit to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).  For more information about this organization, visit the BCRF website today.

This is the digital version....

In honor of this program, here are our May club projects...

The card measures 3x6 when folded and is cut from a piece of 12x12 cardstock.  Cut cardstock to 3x12 and fold in half.  It will fit in a "bill paying" envelope.  You can get 4 cards from one sheet of 12x12 cardstsock or 48 cards from a whole pack.  The idea for this card came from Stampin' Success, a rubber stamping magazine Stampin' Up! sends to its demonstrators each month. Supplies used:  Strength & Hope stamp set; Baseful Blue and Whisper White cardstock (cut to 2 3/4 x 4 1/2);  Blushing Bride, Bashful Blue and Rose Red Classic Ink; Blushing Bride Stitched-Poly Ribbon.

This is a Butterfly Easel Card.  It stands up by itself.

Here's what the "easel" will look like from the side...

We all know people who have been touched by some form of cancer.  As stampers, we really can make a difference in the lives of others by sending hand-stamped notes of love and encouragement to people who have been touched by this horrible disease.  Don't forget to send encouraging notes to the caregivers--they need encouraging too!  Supplies for butterfly card:  Friends 24-7 stamp set; Blushing Bride, Whisper White cardstock; Blushing Bride and Concord Crush Classic Ink; Stampin' Dimensionals; 1" Circle Punch.  Bye for now, Maria
